I-77 Bridge Repairs Beginning March 15th
Blythewood Road bridge repairs will begin on March 15th and will try to be completed by the end of April, but it could take longer. The traffic pattern will not be detoured for this project. The bridge is wide enough to enable staging the construction where the lanes will shift, however; there will still be one lane open in each direction throughout the project. The only exception to this is two weekend closures where the turning lane will be removed for the weekend only, as well as some temporary daytime lane closures to get the staging set up or shifted. Interstate 77 below the bridge will experience nighttime lane closures for the painting, jacking, and bearing repair of the bridge. The contractor is from out-of-town and once the work commences, it will continue 7 days a week until the project is complete. Please use caution during this construction period and prepare for delays by leaving early for your destination.
